
2008 Ginn Open Got Game Challenge Recap
Lindy Duncan outlasted Sookhee Baek on the
second playoff hole of the inaugural Ginn OPEN Got Game
Challenge at Ginn Reunion Resort. The sixteen year-old amateur
from Plantation, Florida, drove her tee shot down the middle of
the fairway and with her second shot placed the ball within 15
feet of the pin. Two shots
later, Duncan tapped in for par to
beat the professional from Bradenton, FL.
Duncan shot a 3-under par (69) on the final
day to force the playoff with Baek who shot a two over par (74).
With her win, Duncan earned a qualifying spot in the LPGA’s Ginn
OPEN taking place April 14-20. Other amateurs who earned a spot
for the LPGA qualifier which will take place on Tuesday, April
15, 2008 are Stephanie Kim from Orlando, FL and Rachel Rohanna
from Waynesburg, PA.
The 2008 Ginn OPEN Got Game Challenge
The field has been set for the Ginn OPEN Got
Game Challenge, taking place on January 5th and 6th at Ginn
Reunion Resort. The ninety-eight player field consists of
fifty-eight amateur golfers.
In the field, two of the golfers were
previous Ginn OPEN sponsor exemptions, Andia Winslow (2006) and
Vicki Hurst (2007).
Players are coming from twenty-four
different states including California, Arizona, Washington and
Minnesota. The state of Florida is well represented in the
Challenge with fifty-seven players from all over the state.
Also of note, there are two players that
competed on the Golf Channel’s Big Break, Briana Vega and Jeanne
Cho-Hunicke. Vega won Big Break IV and Cho-Hunicke was a
finalist on Big Break V.
